If you've been using Stitch Pay Later and you're suddenly seeing a request for additional verification, here's why.
You're probably adding Extend to your account
If you have used Stitch Pay Later for Split purchases, you would have completed the verification required for Split. To pay with Extend, we need to conduct a few more checks, as Extend offers a potentially higher available spend limit, and allows you to defer the first payment. This is part of being responsible.
What to expect
The additional steps are quick and standard:
- Confirming a few extra details about your income
- An affordability check based on the information you've provided
- A short additional credit check
You don't need to redo everything that's already on file. The verification will add the remaining information to what you've already done.
Once you're verified for Extend
Your full Pay Later limit, now covering both Split and Extend, is available to use at any participating store. You'll see Extend as an option at checkout where the store supports it, and the same with Split. You can view your available limit at any time in your Stitch account.
If you don't want to add Extend
That's fine. You can keep using Split as you always have, and no additional verification is needed. Split continues to work exactly as it did before. However, if a store only offers Extend as an option, you won't be able to use your available spend to Pay Later at that store.
