Sign up takes a few minutes at app.stitch.money. You’ll need your South African ID number, mobile number, and a working camera for the selfie step.
Most common things that block sign-up
- Mobile number format, use your full South African mobile number starting with +27 (for example, +27821234567), not 082 1234567.
- Email already in use, if you’ve started signing up before, try logging in with that email instead of creating a new account.
- ID number already in use, your ID can only be linked to one Stitch Pay Later account. If you’ve forgotten which email you used, contact us.
- Generic error after entering your details, try again in a few minutes; this usually fixes itself.
Why am I seeing a vague error?
We don’t tell you exactly which detail is already in use, on purpose. This protects existing customers from someone trying to find out whether a phone number or ID is registered with us. If you suspect your details are already in our system from a previous attempt, reply to this message and we’ll check from our side.
