Sometimes a scheduled Pay Later payment fails to collect, for example, if the funds aren't yet in your account on the due date. Here's how Stitch handles it, and what you can do.
Notifications
You'll receive a notification from Stitch as soon as a collection fails, with the reason where available. You'll also see the updated payment status on your Stitch Pay Later plan.
Retry attempts
Stitch may retry the collection automatically over the following days. You'll be notified before each retry, so you can make sure funds are available.
If you can't make a payment on time
Please reach out before the due date. We're better able to help when we hear from you early. You can contact us from your Stitch account or by replying to any payment-reminder email.
Late fees and account impact
A missed Pay Later instalment may attract a late fee, which is shown in your payment schedule before you confirm a purchase. Repeated missed payments can affect your Pay Later available spend and future eligibility.
Catching up
Once funds are available, you can either wait for the next automatic retry or settle the outstanding amount manually from your Stitch account. The rest of your plan continues on its original schedule.
