New to Stitch? How Pay Later works, from sign-up to your first purchase

Stitch Pay Later lets you buy now and pay in monthly instalments at participating South African online stores. Here's everything you need to get started, from signing up to your first purchase.

There's no app to download

Stitch runs in your browser, on your phone or your computer. Go to app.stitch.money to sign up and manage everything in your account. On mobile, open the menu to find each section.

Sign up in a few minutes

Go to app.stitch.money and choose Sign up. You'll need:

Your South African ID number.
Your South African mobile number, starting with +27.
Your email address.
A working camera for a quick selfie.

As part of sign-up, we verify your identity and assess your credit profile and affordability. Using other pay later services doesn't stop you from signing up.

Find a store

Browse featured stores at stitch.me, no sign-in needed. For the full list, sign in at app.stitch.money, open Borrow, then choose Shop all. You can filter stores by category, like fashion, electronics or travel.

Pay with Stitch at checkout

Choose Stitch Pay Later in the store's payment options. Before you confirm, you'll see your repayment options and the full schedule. With Split, our standard plan:

Your first instalment is paid at checkout.
The rest are collected automatically from your card on the dates in your schedule.
There's no interest or ordinary service fees when you pay on time.

To line your instalments up with payday, set your salary date under Account, then Salary date. It applies to new plans. See How do I change my salary date?

Pay Later and Rewards are different

Some stores, like Takealot, Superbalist and Bash, are Stitch Rewards stores. You pay there as usual and earn cashback, but Pay Later isn't offered at their checkout. See What is Stitch Rewards?

Don't see Stitch Pay Later at checkout?

Pay Later is only offered at participating stores, so check the store is listed under Borrow, then Shop all. If checkout says Pay Later isn't available for this purchase, that can depend on the store and on your available spend. See How does my Pay Later available spend work?
